9 months

9 months check-up
29 inches
19 lbs, 9 oz.

loves yogurt, rice and lentils--not so much.
still fights naps and bedtime, wakes up for an hour during the night to crawl and fight sleep, sometimes sleeps a 3 hour stretch between 6 and 11 pm.

i, on the other hand, am a wreck. heart palpitations, fatigue, muscle pain...blood work on monday and an appointment to set up a holter heart monitor. hopefully it's just a thyroid condition or anemia, not anything directly related to the heart. apparently 1 out of 20 women develop hyper/hypo thyroidism in the postpartum period. at any rate, i spend my days dreading those little heart flips and worrying that i should have signed up for life insurance.

leon is trying his best to keep me entertained.

he's looking like such a little grown up! i LOVE his hair especially the bangs.

i'm so sorry to hear about your health. moms really have it rough. hopefully it's nothing serious.

now onto gear, i was originally thinking of getting the tripp trapp instead of the svan because i liked the idea of just pushing it up to the table. but a friend has the svan and really loves it and his 4-year-old is still using it daily. i saw both side-by-side and liked the svan's compactness and the seat seemed more secure, with a wood piece wrapping around the front for when he's smaller. and in the end, we decided we wanted something with a tray.

we absolutely love it and little hugh does, too. he can sit in it for a pretty long time without complaint. totally worth the money. i heard the tripp trapp's great, too, though.

Like Audrey, Leon is blooming at your expense! Mothers do have it rough. We really tolerate alot, not realising how it's affecting us. Hopefully the Dr will advise some serious sleep and that'll be all that's required. Good luck :)

Erica, just checking in to see how you are feeling. I am really sorry to hear that you have been so sick and am glad you are listening to your body and getting checked out. In the past months you have endured considerable mental and physical stress between your work and mothering Leon, and this scare may just be your body's way of forcing you to slow down, even though that may seem impossible given the many tasks on your plate. Sending good thoughts for better health your way.
